In this study, female rabbits were treated with anabolic steroid (nandrolone decanoate) or arachis oil placebo for 4 weeks or 12 weeks. The rabbits were allowed to be fed a high protein diet for 14 weeks with a decrease in their caloric intake of 50% to 60% and a decrease in body mass from 10.1% to 8.9%.The effect of testosterone on skeletal muscle and fat mass was calculated by analysis of variance. The sample size was selected based on previous studies on testosterone, muscle and fat metabolism (see above), how do steroids make you stronger. This effect size provides the basis for conducting a new test that may identify other human populations at risk for obesity.
